| 1. Can you
give me instructions on how to use your Pix software? |
||||||
| Click here for a step-by-step guide. | ||||||
| 2. I seem
to be having a problem using your software with AOL. Are there any known
issues? |
||||||
| The AOL server has problems connecting to our
machines. Please follow these guidelines and the problem should disappear: Load the PIX program. Press the "Configure Connection" button. Select the "I Connect Manually" option. Press "apply" and then press "OK". |
||||||
| 3. Is it
possible to speed up the upload procedure? |
back to top | |||||
| This is mainly determined by the speed of the
modem you are using, the size of file you are sending, and the load that
your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has to cope with when you are online.
It is difficult to predict how long an upload will take but in normal
conditions we have found the following: A 640 x 480 image of size 41K with a 28,800 baud connection took 14 seconds. A 858 x 614 image of size 61K with a 28,800 baud connection took 21 seconds. A 1536 x 1024 image of size 161K with a 28,800 baud connection took 56 seconds. |
||||||
| 4. Will installing
the Bonusprint Pix software affect what I already have on my computer? |
||||||
| The Bonusprint Pix software is a fully stand
alone program. Installing it will not harm your other applications or
modify your system settings. If required, you might in rare situations
be prompted to modify some internet settings to allow the program to connect
to the internet. |
||||||
| 5. Your
software does not work on my operating system. When will you be developing
software for it? |
||||||
| Several platforms such as Linux are not yet
fully supported by our service. We would advise you in these cases to
send
us a CD or memory card with the images you wish to print. |
||||||
| 6. How do
I configure an internet connection through a proxy server or firewall? |
||||||
| A common problem when attempting to use the
Bonusprint PIX software occurs when the Internet link has to go through
a firewall. To enable the software to work correctly the customer must
configure their Firewall to allow access to ports 80 and 443 both inward
and outgoing. If the customer has no control over the configuration of
the firewall then they will have to talk to either their ISP or network
administrator. If the customer has a personal software firewall running
on their PC then they may wish to deactivate it for the duration of their
session using Pix. |
||||||
| 7. What does 'Remember My Address' mean? | ||||||
If you tick the 'Remember My Address' box, the computer you are using now will remember your name and address the next time you visit bonusprint.co.uk - saving you the time typing them in again. However, for your security, only use this service if you are at a computer that only you use. Never tick 'Remember My Address' if you are using a computer in an internet café or library where lots of people have access to it. |
||||||
| 8. I get
the following error message when trying to use your software: "HTTP ENCODER"
.... |
||||||
| This error message appears when the Print Service
software is not able to find one of the selected images. When you prepare
your order, the selected images are copied in the temp folder, where they
stay until you send your order. For an unknown reason, the Print Service
software can't retrieve one of the images. To correct this problem, you
need to delete from your order this specified image, and then add it back
to your order. To do this, just go through the following procedure: Restart the Pix software, and answer "Yes" to resume the previous incomplete order. The software will go directly to the 5th step, where you select the shipping and payment method. Click on "Next", and you arrive on the order confirmation screen. Here you can see the list of the images. Those which have already been sent are checked. Write the number of the first unchecked image: the problem comes from this one. Remember that you can resize the column. Return to the previous screen where you were asked to select your images. Find the image numbers you wrote down previously, and delete those images from your order. Now add back the deleted images to the order. You are now able to complete your order. |
